Considering how day 1 of Toronto's Virgin Festival seemed to go off relatively smoothly, it's only appropriate that the second day have a speedbump or two, and the incident during Oasis' headlining set surely gave everyone at the festival a story to write home about. The world-renowed Britpop group was in the middle of playing one of its hits, "Morning Glory," when a previously unidentified male ran out suddenly from behind the band and violently shoved guitarist Noel Gallagher forward onto his monitor. The man proceeded towards singer Liam Gallagher, who began to fight back. The altercation was intercepted by security personell, who promptly wisked away the assailant.
The second and final day of Toronto's Virgin Festival will take place tonight, headlined by Manchester-based rock superstars, Oasis. Yesterday was said to be an excellent opening day, graced by artists such as Bloc Party, MGMT, and Foo Fighers. It goes without saying that Oasis, accompanied by a lineup including Moby and Silversun Pickups, will give Toronto a night it will never forget.
