While Outside Lands and Golden Gate park hogging most of the music world's searchlight when it shines on San Francisco, this festival has been one of the best blues fests on the West Coast for more than 30 years now--it's the longest-running blues festival in the country, and it shows no signs of slowing down. With Elvin Bishop (performing with the larger Delta Groove All-Star Blues Revue) and Johnny Winter being the headliners, the festival is even more about guitar than ever this year. Putting a robust selection of food, art and film to go along with the top-tier lineup, one wonders why this festival isn't the talk of the town these days.
