There might be snow on the ground, but the Vans Warped Tour is heating up. The annual punk/metal/alternative music festival has unveiled the initial lineup for its 2010 tour, which kicks off June 24 in San Diego. Pop punks The All-American Rejects, Sum 41, alt-metalhead Andrew WK and third generation ska legends Reel Big Fish are among the headliners.

The Empire Polo Field in Indio, home of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the Stagecoach Country Music Festival and this year's Phish Festival 8, is nominated for "Best Major Outdoor concert Venue." Coachella also got a nod in the "Music Festival of the Year (non-touring) category.

While it was always a staple of Memorial Day Weekend, officials at Sonoma Jazz Plus announced today that the music extravaganza will move to the weekend prior. The slightly shorter festival, including the Wine and Song program, is now set for May 21 through 23 at the Field of Dreams.
The jazz news website All About Jazz announces the first ever Asian American Jazz Festival, taking place in downtown Los Angeles:

Headlining the 3-day event are Japanese piano sensaton, Hiromi, Filipino singing stars, Charmaine Clamor and Mon David, and critically- acclaimed Korean band, Prelude. The festival will feature 12 Asian American and Asian artists throughout two days of music at Cafe Metropol on Friday and Saturday. The main event wil be held at the Japanese American National Museum's Democracy Forum amphitheater on Sunday, November 1st, 2009.
