"The Calgary Folk Music Festival is a long weekend of family-friendly musical bliss at Prince's Island Park, featuring 65+ artists from around the world on seven stages. It's a festival of discovery with an incredibly cool vibe. Kids get in free, and they'll love the family area's interactive activities and entertainment. An international craft market has original, hand-crafted items from independent vendors. Superb food from around the world is available through our concessionaires. Festival artists' CDs can be found in the record tent and cold beverages in the tree-shaded beer garden. Musically, it's a genre-bending affair, including blues, Celtic, traditional music, roots, global grooves, cutting-edge sounds, dub, bluegrass, funk, country, hip-hop, R& B, old-timey, spoken word, alternative and more.
