Cheap Trick set for SXSW

Cheap Trick has been announced as the first headlining attraction at the 2010 South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Veteran Rockford, Ill. pop-rock quartet will play a March 19 gig at Auditorium Shores on Ladybird Lake. Milwaukee's BoDeans will open the show, which is free and open to the public.

Preview 230 artists from SXSW 2010

After teasing fans by releasing a handful of names early, SXSW Music and Media Conference announced a huge list of 230 official showcase artists for the important music industry event. SXSW Music 2010 runs March 17-21 in the Austin TX convention center and in area clubs and venues throughout the city.

Out of all those upcoming independent artists, you might recognize a name or two. We noticed The Crystal Method, Deer Tick, We Are Scientists and some others. But even the most music literate fan is going to need some help.
